Flexential to Add 33MW of Data Center Capacity in 2022

American colocation provider Flexential is set to considerably expand its data center estate, adding 33MW of capacity in regional markets like Georgia and Colorado before the end of the year.

The company has started construction of a new facility in Douglasville, its third data center near Atlanta, which is set to deliver 150,000 square feet of white space and 22.5MW of power when fully built out.

Flexential has also completed the construction of its largest ever data center, located in Hillsboro, Oregon, and now able to support up to 36MW worth of equipment.

The news follows last month’s announcement of an expansion in Denver that is set to add 4.5MW to the campus.

Flexential expansion

Flexential (formerly known as Peak 10) operates more than 40 data centers across 19 US markets. When adding all of its projects together, the company is on track to have more than 220MW of capacity and 3 million square feet of space in operation by the end of the year.

Flexential also announced it would invest in adding further direct access to all major public cloud providers – including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud – across its national private 100Gbps backbone in 2022.
